Binfield F.C.
is a football club based near Bracknell, Berkshire.
They are currently members of the Hellenic
Football League Division One East.
Established in 1892, the club played their
early days in the Ascot and District League
and moved to the Reading and District League
in 1950. After almost forty years in that
league, they entered the Chiltonian League
Division One in 1989,
promptly won the title in their first year
gaining promotion to the Premier Division.
Their biggest success was winning the
Chiltonian League Championship in 1996.
When the Chiltonian League merged with the
Hellenic League in 2000, Binfield joined the
expanded competition
and have been members of Division One East
ever since. Since joining the Hellenic
League, their highest finishing position has
been fifth, which was achieved in both the
2003-04 and 2004-05 seasons.The club moved
to their current Stubbs Lane ground in 1980,
after having previously shared facilities
with the local cricket club at Forest Road.
With Bracknell Forest District Council
having granted planning permission for
floodlights,
Binfieldare putting together a ground that
will have the necessary facilities for entry
into the FA Vase. |
